Weekend Homework:
For those of you who have had the opportunity to meet me you know that I am very proud of where I went to school and like to share the positive with others. On Friday students may get homework in Social Studies. The homework given on Friday's are for students to review what has been learned over the course of the week. THE HOMEWORK IS NOT FOR SCORING OPPORTUNITIES. Because of this I have given students a choice... If given homework on Friday in Social Studies ONLY students can choose to complete their work OR they can wait to see who wins the Michigan football game on Saturday. Should Michigan win the game then students do not have to do the h.w. assigned to them. Again, the choice is theirs (and yours if you like). If a student wants to do the work they can and if you want them to do the work they can.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Again the homework given over the weekend is not used for scoring opportunities and this is for Social Studies only!!! All other work must be completed over the weekend.
This happened the first week of school where I gave students a scavenger book hunt for homework. I let them know if Michigan wins they do not have to finish their scavenger hunt if they don't want to (many wanted to!!) On Monday when the students returned to school we still went over the scavenger hunt so that everyone knew and had the answers.
